Indianapolis Art Center executive director Joyce Sommers began her opening remarks in Chinese to the sold-out dinner celebration marking the opening of an exhibit featuring the works from the Shandong College of Arts in Jinan, China. More than 400 people, many from the local Chinese community, were on hand for a party that included remarks by Maoming Chu, the Chicago based deputy council general of the People's Republic of China, and the Shandong College of Arts vice president Wang Like.
